The Lifecast Baby V manikin serves as a realistic and respectful simulation tool, designed to facilitate training in the recognition of life extinct (ROLE), compassionate handling of a deceased baby, and effective communication with bereaved families.
Baby V, representing 28–29 weeks of gestation, accurately depicts the physical characteristics of a deceased baby, including livor mortis (postmortem blood pooling), cyanotic discoloration, and realistic weight distribution. It enables healthcare professionals—including first responders, neonatal specialists, forensic teams, and bereavement care providers—to develop essential skills in clinical decision-making, emotional management, and dignified aftercare procedures.
Additionally, the manikin supports comprehensive resuscitation training, encompassing intubation, CPR, and ventilatory techniques, thereby allowing educators to guide learners through both life-saving interventions and end-of-life protocols.
