Due to the increasing spread of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, the education fair didacta (originally planned for 24 to 28 March) will not take place in March.
Throughout the past weeks, Messe Stuttgart has been in close, constructive contact with the health authorities of the State of Baden-Württemberg and the Didacta Verband e. V. and the Verband Bildungsmedien e. V. Recommendations and instructions from the authorities are adapted to the respective situation. The recent significant increase in the number of infections in Germany has necessitated a new assessment of the situation by the health authorities.
didacta - the education fair was to take place for the tenth time in Stuttgart from 24 to 28 March. Visitors inlcude teachers, educators, trainers, coaches and personnel developers and, in addition to the offerings of the more than 950 exhibitors, the fair offers a program of events with more than 1,500 advanced training courses, workshops, lectures and congresses. High-ranking representatives from politics, business, science and society come to didacta to find ways to advance education for the future and to exchange ideas. Messe Stuttgart expected around 85,000 visitors in 2020.
"We regret this situation, but the health of all exhibitors, visitors and employees has absolute priority for us and our partners. This is a difficult situation for the exhibitors. We are working flat out to find an alternative date in the near future, but we are convinced that everyone concerned will understand this decision for the time being", said Stefan Lohnert, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart.
