Cervical traction is a noninvasive treatment that stretches the soft tissues in the neck to separate spinal joint structures in order to relieve neck pain. Instability is damage to the cervical spinal column, either through trauma or disease, resulting in a potential for shifting/malunion of fractured bones prior to complete healing.
