eSono library ultrasound library Organ Library

e Sono comes with a large library of ultrasound skill exercises and courses using 2D, 3D and 4D scan volumes. Instructors can modify or create their own courses based on specific learning outcomes, and easily scale it from 10 to 10000's users with no special location or equipment needed.

Get the most of your training with real ultrasound scans and visualization tools

e Sono offers tools similar to those found on real ultrasound machines, allowing you to practice with the resources necessary to prepare for image acquisition.

annotation

Annotations: Enable learners to insert annotations and take linear and circumference measurements on acquired images, mirroring real ultrasound machine functionalities. These tools allow learners to highlight critical aspects of each scan, enhancing understanding and communication skills necessary for clinical practice.

Anatomy view

Anatomy View with layers and labels: Provides an in-depth exploration of human anatomy through seven detailed layers—Circulatory, Skeletal, Organs, Connective Tissue, Nervous System, Lymphatic, and Muscular. Each layer is equipped with interactive labels, helping learners accurately identify and understand various organs and anatomical structures.

Cross-section

Cross-section: Allows learners to visualize 'cuts' through the virtual manikin, offering a detailed view of internal structures. This feature, combined with the anatomy view layers, offers a comprehensive understanding of anatomical relationships and spatial orientation, essential for mastering image acquisition and diagnosis.

And More

probe-control

Real scans in all exercises: Thanks to partnerships with doctors and sonographers from various hospitals and universities, e Sono has built a comprehensive library of hundreds of scans from real patients. These scans present both anatomical and pathological details, providing students with the essential resources to prepare for real-life scenarios.

Automated-assesment

Automated assessment: e Sono gives an objective assessment of students' skills on every exercise. Be it a navigation exercise or a multiple-choice question, educators can always track students' development and save time correcting them.

real-scans

Probe control: Use your mouse to control the digital probe with functionalities including drag, tilt, and rotate. These features allow learners to accurately place the probe and find the specific images they need, simulating real-life ultrasound procedures and enhancing their practical skills.

phone-as-probe

Phone as a probe: For an interactive experience that enhances hand-eye coordination, use your own smartphone as a probe. All controls available with the virtual probe—drag, tilt, and rotate—are accessible on your phone, providing a realistic and engaging training environment.

Study Result: e Sono is an effective platform for teaching ultrasound skills to students

e Sono online ultrasound simulator has proven effective in teaching basic psychomotor skills to medical students. With in-person training restricted, the University Hospital of Lausanne introduced a complete online ultrasound course, combining theoretical modules and practical exercises using a virtual simulator.

The results showed a significant improvement in students' skills, with the average score rising from 4.23 to 6.36 (P < .001) after using the simulator. High engagement levels were evident, with 184 out of 193 students completing all exercises, reflecting the platform's accessibility and appeal. Positive feedback was notable, with 62.6% of students enjoying the simulator and 58% feeling accomplished in reproducing ultrasound images.

The study confirms e Sono's effectiveness in providing essential remote ultrasound training. The platform's flexibility and scalability make it a valuable alternative to traditional hands-on workshops, potentially enhancing accessibility to ultrasound training for medical students worldwide.
