The microphone probe  (short), like the microphone probe (long) (item no: 1017342), is part of experiments to determine the speed of sound (item no: 8000567 and 8000569). It is also a required accessory for the Kundt's Tube E (item no: 1017339). Both microphone probes are used with the microsecond counter and the microphone box.

The microphone probe is intended for measuring changes in sound pressure inside Kundt’s tube E. It consists of a thin metal tube with a transducer (miniature microphone) at the front end.
