Equine Nasogastric Simulator without Stand
Equine Nasogastric Simulator without Stand
The VSI Equine Nasogastric Model is expertly designed to aid veterinary students in mastering essential clinical techniques through realistic, hands-on practice. Additionally, it is compatible with the Equine Dystocia model.
Made from durable silicone with an integrated metal armature, the model features a removable and washable hide covering, which can be easily replaced to maintain cleanliness and durability. The detachable head facilitates transport and provides quick access to internal components. It is anatomically detailed, accepting a bit and bridle, and includes flexible ears and realistic facial features to support facial injection training.
The model's nasal passageway accurately replicates anatomical structures, enabling students to practice passing an intubation tube via the esophagus into the stomach. A visual reference site on the left side of the neck allows students to confirm tube placement, while an integrated smell and suction test further assists in verifying correct positioning within the stomach chamber.
The internal anatomy includes a mechanical vein pressurizing system that provides positive pressure, enhancing the realism of jugular venipuncture and blood draw practices. The model comes with five sets of durable, replaceable latex veins, designed to endure multiple punctures with 20-22 gauge needles, ensuring that venipuncture and fluid administration skills can be practiced repeatedly. Additionally, an intramuscular injection site withstands multiple punctures, enabling realistic fluid injection simulations.
